Dr. Dunton,
before his passing in 2007 was interested in establishing the L. W. Dunton
Foundation in honor of his father a pastor that had a big heart for kids.
This organization was to provide recreation and education in various crafts
and the arts for disadvantaged kids and adults. Day trips and excursions
to the farm was the idea. Doc created various studios on the farm: ceramics,
jewelry, woodworking, metalworking, stained glass and wanted to incorporate
these with the foundation's efforts.
Farm activities and education would also be incorporated into the program
in an effort to instill in them the value of rural and nature based activities.
As we progress in this effort we will post more information here. We are
eager to hear any ideas about this venture that you might have that would
help in this goal.
